
Slate is a compact fine grain metamorphic rock that possesses slate cleavage and hence can be split into slabs and thin plates. Slate slabs are primarily composed of silica and alumina which is mostly used for surface laminations. Further used to create a large variety of artifacts and things of use in the kitchen, living rooms or gardens, slate slab are cut into thick broad pieces.
Slate slabs comes in a number of colors ranging from dark slates in black and anthracite to the rustic copper influenced slates. There are also a number of finishes of slate slabs with differing degrees contributing to an extremely beautiful house. Thick slabs can be produced which have a great variety of uses such as gravestones, snooker tables, mortuary slabs, and to keep food cool in kitchens.
