Granite chips basically refers to thin pieces of granite available in huge variety of colors and patterns. Thin pieces of granite chips lay flat and produce a nice texture for landscape. Granite basically refers to a common, coarse-grained, light-colored, hard igneous rock comprising chiefly of quartz, orthoclase or microcline, and mica, widely used in monuments and for building. It is a common and widely-occurring type of intrusive, felsic, igneous rock that form at great depths and pressures under continents. Granite consists of orthoclase and plagioclase feldspars, quartz, hornblende, biotite, muscovite and minor accessory minerals such as magnetite, garnet, zircon and apatite. Granite chips are available in many colors and these can be applied directly on top of grass or dirt, providing very alluring and professional appearance.
