Stone Edges

Chamfered / Bevelled
Edges of stone can be chamfered / beveled. Chamfering removes whiteness and chipped edges. This looks very good. Chamfering is a simple process in which a polishing brick is run at an angle of 45 °. Joints of chamfered edges are easier to clean (e.g. kitchen platforms). In corners or protrusion where one edge will be visible, it is best to have both the meeting edges cut at 45 °. Where a single edge will be visible, it can be shaped and even polished as follows. If done at site, often the workmanship and polish are very poor and you have no choice but to accept

Machine cut / sawn edges
The machine cut or machine sawn edges are the most popular and economically priced edges, giving standardized sizes. Made by using hot rolling cutter blade, the machines sawn edges are very smooth and make the tiles or slabs to fit perfectly.

Hand chiseled/hand dressed edges
Sharpening stones and honing tools are used for sharpening edges and honing internal or external surfaces. Finding immense usage in exterior walls and pavements, the tiles with hand chiseled edges are as smooth as the natural surface finish. Professionally worked to achieve the required smoothness, these edges are in high demand.
